Theatre is storytelling and we all have our own way of doing it. From your gentle Grandpa doing all the voices for the ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ to that friend who passionately acts it all out for everyone we all get captivated by different aspects of these tales and their tellers. Multi Sensory theatre is no different.
It goes beyond the linguistic form of communication and brings to life a story to its full and immense capacity through elevating our senses. This is especially important for those who take in information differently. Autistic, neurodivergent and complex disabilities can often require this form of sensory landscape to feel comfortable enough to access the show.
Our shows:
- Unlike traditional theatre, our audiences are not required to sit still or be silent. Now in a Minute theatre embraces our audience’s temperament and encourages interaction throughout.
- You are free to leave and reenter the space as often as you would like.
- Pre show guides are available for children and families that include Social and Visual stories for those attended the event.
- Our smaller audience’s offer a more personal and stimulating experience and removes the risk of crowding and induced stress.
- We aim to use more than just language and push the boundaries of communication through all the different senses We inspire reactions through not just sight and sound but with specific smells and materials to touch. For our audience, this encourages curiosity, eases communication and sparks wonder.
- Our productions offer a totally inclusive experience that is shared and enjoyed between both parent/guardian and young person together.
